If you can wash your face without the help of a hairband, you are probably sporting a SHORT hair.

However, most interestingly, if you can wash your face without the help of a hairband, BUT need a little help of a shoulders-up-stance, there is no doubt you have  a LONG hair.

All hairband users, sorry but you are un-definable.
